GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES:
- All students are required to wear Dance Uniform in class AT ALL TIMES
( uniform not required FOR SUMMER CAMP STUDENTS)
- In the winter we ask that Dancers either wear a dance wrap or the Long Sleeves Leotards that are available with curtain call for class
- HAIR: for all levels of Ballet, hair must be kept in a bun.
- For all other styles of dance hair must be off the face and up in a pony tail.
- Boys: no hats allowed.
- All uniform requirements and items for purchase are available on our uniform page . Gum, soda, snacks and toys that are not related to the class are not allowed in the classroom.
- Please bring your own refillable water bottles to class.
2. RECITAL GENERAL INFORMATION:
- WHEN: we have a calendar that has all dates pre-marked on it. You will receive that calendar at registration. Generally we hold a Variety recital in December or January and the Themed recital in June. If changes need to be made you will be notified via in house bulletin board and email.
- PRACTICE TIMES:We usually start practicing the recital routine 6 weeks prior to the show (for our Variety recital) and 12 weeks prior to the June recital.
- We use half of the class for routine practice and the other half for Technique.
- EXTRA TIMES AND DAYS: Usually towards the weeks leading up to the recital, we need to schedule extra practice times (Saturdays), especially for interacting groups and soloists. Every Dancer must attend those days.
- SOLOISTS: the decision on who gets to have a solo in our June recital is based on the student's: dedication, attendance and reliability, technique level for the part, showmanship and availability for extra practice time.
- Varieta's SOLOS: On our Varieta' recital all students are given one minute to perform a self choreographed solo ( it needs to be pre approved by our teachers based on the appropriateness of content).
- TICKETS:on your registration calendar you will have the opening dates of tickets sale. All seats are marked and the price is $9.00 per ticket. Tickets are available for purchase from opening day until 10 minutes before the show (if not sold out).
- COSTUMES: the cost varies between $60 and $75 per costume. We don't know the exact cost until we pick the costume, which happens around December (for the June recital). Our Variety (Varieta') show is a low cost production, so we try to be as creative as possible within a low budget. That costume is usually no more than $35.
- Payment of costume: For our June recital we need the full payment by the last week in January. Costumes that are not paid in full may not get ordered in time for the recital and a seperate shipping cost will be charged.
- Measurements: Dancers are measured early January. We always take a little growth estimate into consideration. Sizes are based on a chart given by the suppliers. If there is the need for an exchange due to a large growth spurt, a $10.00 fee applies.
- STUDIO PICTURES: We take our own Studio pictures here at Revita. Dates will be on the registration calendar. We ask that all dancers are here for that day so we can have everyone in the group pictures. Every child gets at least 10 individual poses as well. Purchase is optional and packages are available.
- RECITAL PICTURES: Todd Brown is our photographer at Recital night. He usually takes around 500 pictures of the kids. A $15.00 dollar photo fee is due with the costume fee and everyone gets a High resolution CD with all image files authorized for printing. Flash photos are not allowed on recital night. - VIDEO: Our professionally shot video is also part of the Recital cost and is due with costumes. $25.00 per family.
Class Attendance
Regular class attendance is imperative to the progress of all dancers.
Teachers cannot be expected to stop the class to help a child catch up with what was missed. When class is missed, a student falls behind and then begins to feel insecure about their dancing.
Arrival
- Students should arrive 5–10 minutes before class so they are prepared to begin class on time.
- We ask that young children not be dropped off more than 10 minutes before class, and that they are picked up promptly following class. Teachers are busy preparing for the day and cannot supervise your child before or after his/her class.
Class Dismissal
- The teacher will dismiss students. If a student needs to be excused for any reason during class, the parent should send a note.
- No child will be excused on his/her own accord. The parent must come into the studio to pick up the child. This is a matter of safety.
Absences
- Please phone the studio in advance when a class is to be missed.
Make-up Classes
- Missed classes may be made up during another class within the same level, or lower.

- The dancer should call us and make an appointment for the make-up class.
- All make-up class appointments must be made within two months of the absence.
- No classes may be made up during recital practice time.
Recital Participation
During the months of March through June, it is imperative that all students attend
class. If a student misses more than 4 classes during this period of time, Carolina
and/or the teacher reserve the right to ask the student not to participate in the recital,
as excessive absences are disruptive to the other students in the class. (You will still be responsible for recital and costume fees.) Special circumstances may apply.
